Three people injured in YouTube HQ shooting

The female shooter was reported to be dead; it was not clear if she killed herself or was taken out by law enforcement.

Police say the shooter is dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

YouTube employee Vadim Lavrusik posted on Twitter that he heard gunshots and saw people running.

Zuckerberg General Hospital told NBC News that it had received three patients and was expecting more, while Stanford Medical Center said it was expecting four or five patients.

She said she was on a conference call and her boss, who heard shots, told her at least one person was shot on the patio where people eat.

In a statement, Google said: "We are coordinating with authorities and will provide official information here from Google and YouTube as it becomes available".

Officers patted down people to make sure none had weapons, and police vehicles surrounded the area. Spokesman Brent Andrew says a 36-year-old man is in critical condition, a 32-year-old woman is in serious condition and a 27-year-old woman is in fair condition. "Please stay away from Cherry Ave & Bay Hill Drive", San Bruno police said on Twitter.

Television news footage showed people leaving the building in a line, holding their arms in the air for police to inspect as they were leaving the building.

Shortly after 1 p.m. on Tuesday, several YouTube employees began tweeting about a possible shooting at the company.

"We headed towards the exit and then saw more people and someone said that there was a person with a gun", Sherman tweeted.

"Active shooter at YouTube HQ".

He could not confirm initial reports that a second shooter was involved.

The White House says the president has been briefed and is monitoring the situation.

ATF officials said it will be responding to Tuesday's incident.
