Neymar's €222m move to PSG appeared extravagant because the world transfer record before last summer was Paul Pogba's €105m return to Manchester United.

"It seems like a fantasy to me", Valverde said when asked about the chance Neymar could return.

An injury that the Brazilian could theoretically have played through, with PSG facing into a decisive Champions League tie against Real Madrid, Neymar Jr's decision rendered him incapable of featuring in the club's biggest game since his record-breaking move there the summer before.

The rumors didn't end there.

But a broken foot ruled Neymar out of the second leg of a last-16 Champions League tie with Real Madrid, and the 26-year-old is also a doubt for the World Cup. This advancement will come as a huge blow to Real Madrid.

The rumours are surfacing at a time when Neymar has been linked continuously with a move to Barcelona's fierce rivals Real Madrid who have identified the Brazilian as a flawless replacement for an ageing Cristiano Ronaldo.

Neymar wants to return to Barcelona

"Maybe in another 10 years it will be €400million, or even before that". In 10 years they might spend 400 million euros. The Real coach Zinedine Zidane has been recently praising Neymar's skills and his prospects in his club.

Do you think Neymar will leave PSG for Barca?

Since his move to the Paris based club, the Brazilian has been the topic of many conversations regarding his controversies on both, on and off the field.

PSG have said that the injury will be assessed again in six weeks but it's unlikely he will play for the Ligue 1 side again this season, with his focus now on being fully fit for the World Cup in Russian Federation this summer.

The former Santos prodigy will be desperate to return to first-team football as soon as possible, allowing the necessary time to regain his form ahead of the World Cup in Russian Federation this summer. Their front cover said "Only talk about Neymar".
