It wasn't a shot that Markelle Fultz missed this time.

The former number three overall pick took to Instagram whilst lying in a hospital bed, posting a story captioned "not good".

Kyle Neubeck of the Philly Voice noted Embiid suffered a facial contusion, passed the initial concussion protocol, his X-rays came back negative and he was taken to the hospital for precautionary reasons. Then again, the Hornets battling for their playoff lives means this could actually benefit the Sixers since they're desperate to win every game possible, so the Cavaliers will be facing a little extra pressure heading into Wednesday night since they would hate to fall another spot in the playoff standings.

Fultz was driving toward the basket 20 seconds into the period when he appeared to accidentally head-butt Embiid. Fultz also fell to the court, but he was unharmed and expressed concern for his seven-foot teammate afterward. The 7-footer immediately went to the floor.

Joel Embiid will not travel with the 76ers for their upcoming two-game road trip, Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

"I was scared", Philadelphia's Dario Saric said of seeing Embiid crumble to the court.

The second-year center earned his first career All-Star appearance this season and is averaging 22.9 points, 11 rebounds and 1.8 blocks for the 76ers, who are fourth in the East at 44-30. "All I can do is pray for him".
