Is Blizzard Teasing Diablo 3 for Nintendo Switch?

There's been one notable exception to that rule: Diablo 3, which is available on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One after initially being ported to previous-generation consoles. The short video titled, "Sweet Dreams", showed a Diablo night light flickering on and off. If the game came to the Switch, we'd start back over. A Blizzard representative later told Polygon: "We can assure you we're not that clever..."

Although the majority of growth was secured from online and digital game sales, physical games also saw an unexpected boost thanks to triple-A releases like Call of Duty WW2 and Federation Internationale de Football Association 18.

This raises the question, should Blizzard release its Diablo series to the Switch, and especially Diablo 3, the latest installment?

Having Diablo III on the Nintendo Switch would be awesome, but the gore would have to be toned down immensely. We hear you. Actually, we agree with you.

That Blizzard would bring Diablo 3 to Switch makes sense given the console's successful first year. In 2016, on the eve of Nintendo's Switch reveal (when the console was still known as the "NX"), Blizzard tweeted this.

Rumors about a Switch version of the game surfaced last week following a tweet from videogame journalist Marcus Sellars, which stated that a Switch port is in development at Blizzard.

Earlier this week, Blizzard tweeted out seemingly big news with a video that many people thought was meant to tease the release of its Diablo series on the Nintendo Switch.
