A group of Park Slope residents confronted Mayor Bill de Blasio Tuesday, a day after a auto struck and killed two young children at a neighborhood intersection.

The driver of the vehicle, a 44-year-old woman, struck a parked auto which caused a chain-reaction crash into the rear of a auto parked in front of it.

"The vehicle she was driving has an abominable driving record", City Councilman Brad Lander said Tuesday.

Abigail Blumenstein, 4, and Joshua Lew, 1, were killed in the crash, and both of their mothers were injured, along with a fifth person.

"I ran to the [mom], telling her, 'Please, Miss, stay down.' ..."

Two other adults were injured in the incident at lunchtime in Park Slope.

Bruns attempted to flee after the hit-and-run, dragging Joshua Lew's stroller down the block before she crashed into several cars on Ninth Street, where bystanders stopped her. "She was like, 'Oh god, ' you know?" Investigators at the scene said Bruns may have been foaming at the mouth, said NYPD Chief of Transportation Thomas Chan. She had been citied for running red lights four times within the past two years, police said according to the New York Daily News, and her vehicle had also been cited for speeding in a school zone four times during that same time period.

The times of the kids hurt in the crash wasn't instantly clear.

De Blasio said he identified "a bunch of problems" with the current laws and expects to explore specifics next week, including creating a better system to evaluate potential drivers with medical impairments, giving law enforcement officers more freedom to investigate multiple camera violations and creating more consequences for those involved in fatal accidents.

De Blasio said he believed more restrictions and consequences were needed for drivers with impairments. "All she kept saying was, 'my baby my baby and she kept on trying to get up, '" said witness De'sir'ee Williams.

"People who get behind the wheel of a vehicle need to understand they have a weapon in their hands".

It appears they didn't sustain severe injuries because they weren't taken to the hospital. "That's disgusting to me".
