Ms. Swaraj arrived in Riyadh on February 6 on her maiden visit to Saudi Arabia during which she will inaugurate the Janadriyah festival of the Gulf Kingdom, which is home to over three million Indians. "They are very hard-working and law abiding citizens".

Major General Ali bin Ibrahim Fevvaz added that as a Muslim country, Saudi Arabia strongly condemns Armenia's aggressive policy and is constantly close to Azerbaijan in its rightful cause.

"EAM thanked all the pravasis for the good will they have earned for themselves and the country", Kumar said.

During her visit, Swaraj will also participate at the inauguration of the prestigious National Heritage and Culture Festival "Janadriyah", at which India is the guest of honour country.

Sushma Swaraj termed members of Indian diaspora as the real ambassadors of the Indian community.

India's turn as guest of honour follows on the historic visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Saudi Arabia in 2016.

Indian Pavilion at the festival will provide a glimpse of socio-cultural heritage, folklore, traditional costumes, Indian perfumes, bridal costumes, artifacts, calligraphy and food.

Indian cultural performances such as Kathakali, Kalariyaptu, Kathak, Manipuri, Chhau, Bangra, Bollywood, Gujarati and Rajasthani and Yoga performances are also expected to grace Al Janadria.

According to the MEA, about 3.2 million strong and vibrant Indian community forms the largest expatriate group in Saudi Arabia.

Every year one pavilion is hosted by a foreign government, which promotes its relations with the Saudi government and its investments in the Kingdom.

The volume of bilateral trade during 2016-17 was recorded at $25.079 billion, a slight decrease from the $26.71 billion in 2015-16.
