The SF71H's livery is more predominantly red than the recent years' red-and-white scheme.

Vettel led the F1 drivers' standings until round 13 at the Italian Grand Prix previous year but his and Ferrari's title challenge fell apart during the Asian flyaway races due to a combination of driver error and mechanical breakdowns. I think they are all waiting for us to say how it feels.

"To stand here now is very special for all of us".

"Some minor things change every year, but the chassis is mostly a development - and now is obviously the time where you see the vehicle, it's all ready, so you want to get in, go out on the track and have a go", Vettel told Autoweek. "For sure, the amount of effort that has gone in and the attention to detail in so many areas is impressive".

"I think that's the answer that we all want to hear and we go from there".

The presentation, online and through social media channels, came on the same day that Mercedes were showing off their new F1 W09 vehicle.

Both teams unveiled their challengers on Thursday, Ferrari showcasing their auto at Maranello while the Silver Arrows showcased the W09 at Silverstone.

"The SF71H has a tighter vehicle body and has been built to perform in high-speed circuits", said Ferrari's technical director, Mattia Binotto.

"The real magic happens underneath but every little detail matters, every part can make a difference, and this year's auto is a big step from last year's one". It also carries the championship hopes of Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen, with Vettel aiming to beat Lewis Hamilton to a fifth career title this year.

"We've tried to stay true to our design philosophy and develop an already solid base", said Mercedes boss Toto Wolff.
