Land Rover is set to reveal a coupé version of the Range Rover at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show in March, but don't expect it to become a common sight on the roads. Details now available include a two-door body style, a seating capacity for four, a limited run of 999 units (all of which will be hand-assembled by SVO in the UK), and "seductive" styling.

Just 999 will be available worldwide, reflecting the niche status of a lumbering £200k+ luxury SUV with its most practical asset - its rear doors - lopped off.

"The Range Rover SV Coupé is a highly compelling design with peerless refinement and uncompromised sophistication, from its breathtaking exterior proportions to its sumptuous, beautifully appointed interior", he said.

Land Rover's plush Range Rover is harking back to its roots with an exclusive limited edition version of the auto that will feature only three doors. Gorgeous figured wood trim coats the dashboard and console, and the front and rear seating areas get their own distinct color environments: white leather fore and navy blue leather aft.

Billed as the "world's first full-size luxury SUV coupe", the model will be built by Jaguar Land Rover Special Vehicle Operations and feature a "seductive body design" as well as a "supremely refined interior".

The Range Rover SV Coupe arrives as Land Rover celebrates its 70th anniversary, with further images and details regarding powertrain and specifications of the new model expected to be rolled out in the lead up its Geneva debut.

Land Rover has confirmed it is developing a two-door Range Rover SV Coupé that will be produced in up to 999 examples.

In a statement, SVO managing director John Edwards said the Range Rover SV Coupe will "offer clients an alluring combination of peerless luxury and rarity".
