McArthur has already been charged in the killings of Andrew Kinsman, 49, and Selim Esen, 42, two gay men who went missing previous year near a downtown neighborhood known as the center of the city's LGBTQ community. Another sister, Patricia Kinsman, remembered him for his tie-dye shirts.

"The city of Toronto has never seen anything like this".

Kayhan, known to frequent the "Village" area around Church and Wellesley, was last seen October 14, 2012.

McArthur has not been charged in connection to the disappearances of Skanda Navaratnam or Abdulbasir Faizi, who both went missing in 2010.

"I'm not going to get into specifics about what their relationship was with Mr. McArthur at this time", Idsinga said after McArthur was charged with the murder of three more men. His disappearance - along with that of Kinsman - became part of the police investigation Project Prism, launched in August.

Police said after the arrest just over a week ago that they believe there are other victims.

In a press release issued in August, Toronto police confirmed that they were investigating whether the two missing persons cases are connected.

The 50-year-old was reported missing in 2015 by his family in east Toronto.

He was last definitively seen on March 20, 2017, but there have been reports that he was also observed by a member of the community as late as April 14. Kinsman was reported missing in June. It is believed he was murdered between May 2016 and July 2017.

September 2017 - Project Prism officers identify Bruce McArthur "as someone to be included or excluded as being involved in the disappearance of Andrew Kinsman". He denies that there is evidence suggesting a serial killer is walking the streets of Toronto.

The self-employed landscaper was arrested on January 18.

The Globe and Mail has reported that McArthur and Kayhan also had a relationship. The bodies of Esen and Kinsman have not been recovered, and police have not said what evidence links McArthur to their presumed deaths.

January 19, 2018 - McArthur has his first court appearance.

Det Sgt Hank Idsinga said McArthur has been charged with three more counts of first degree murder.

In what police called an unprecedented situation in Canada's largest city, investigators announced three more first-degree murder charges against Bruce McArthur, who had already been charged with killing two men who had disappeared in the city's gay village.
