The spectacle surrounding the game is highlighted by the major stars that attach themselves to the game in different ways.

If pink is your favorite color you are in for a treat when it comes to the national anthem at Super Bowl LII, because pop star Pink will be singing the anthem prior to Super Bowl LII at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis on Sunday, Feb. 4, the NFL and NBC announced.

Both Timberlake and Pink will have recently released new albums in time for next month's Super Bowl. Last year, it was Luke Bryan who had the honor of belting out the "Star-Spangled Banner", and this year, it's been announced that it's Pink's turn.

It'll be her second of three Twin Cities performances in the new year. Lady Gaga, Alicia Keys, Christina Aguilera, Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood are among the other entertainers to recently perform the national anthem at the Super Bowl.

According to Dan Hanzus of, the singer will perform the national anthem before the championship clash.

Monday's announcement comes almost three months after the National Football League confirmed Justin Timberlake is returning to headline the Super Bowl halftime show - 14 years after he infamously tore away a portion of Janet Jackson's top on the Super Bowl stage in an incident now referred to as "Nipplegate".

P!NK and Justin Timberlake are a power duo. The infamous moment with Janet Jackson will surely be a story line leading up the game. This is in line with the NFL's recent choices of acts like Bruno Mars, Beyonce, Coldplay and Katy Perry.

Interesting enough Timberlake and P!NK have toured before as part of a previous tour for one of Timberlake's albums.
