They've played in Mexico City the past two seasons and weren't going to three-peat, leaving the United Kingdom as the global destination.

The NFL announced its London games for the 2018 season, with Seattle playing its first-ever contest across the pond in an October 14 matchup with the Raiders at the new Tottenham Hotspur stadium.

On why they are only staging one game here this year, London mayor Sadiq Khan said it was because Spurs and the National Football League are "perfectionists" and want to get everything right first time around.

There are over 75,000 United Kingdom fans of the Jaguars, according to the team.

It's been a successful run for the NFL International Series, which this season held games in both London and Mexico.

Future seasons will include two games at Twickenham Stadium. The Jacksonville Jaguars and Los Angeles Chargers will also feature. Jaguars, Oct. 21 or Oct. 28, Wembley Stadium Titans vs.

Tennessee will play the Los Angeles Chargers at Wembley Stadium on October 21 or 28.

This contest will mark the third straight season and the fourth time in five years that the Raiders have hosted a regular season game internationally. According to the Tribune, NFL rules state teams in temporary home stadiums are required to play global games.

From 1994 to 1999, the Chargers played three preseason games as part of the NFL's American Bowl series, against the New York Giants in Berlin in 1994, the Pittsburgh Steelers in Tokyo in 1996 and the Denver Broncos in Sydney, Australia, in 1999.

This will be the Chargers' sixth game overseas in franchise history and second in the regular season.

Normally, it'd be unfortunate for a team to lose one of its home games, especially when one has to travel extremely far to play the game.

Mayor of London Sadiq Khan said: "London is the worldwide home of the NFL and I am really excited to welcome the world's best American football stars and their thousands of fans from around the globe back to our city".

Tickets details will be released on January 18.
