Wayne County Airport Authority took Ramamoorthy into custody when the flight landed at Detroit Metro Airport. When Celia woke up, she allegedly found her shirt and trousers unbuttoned, and Prabhu's hands inside her trousers. Ramamoorthy was arrested upon landing at the Detroit Metropolitan Airport. The prosecutor said that Ramamoorthy's wife, who was also living in the United States on a temporary visa, would not make a suitable custodian for him.

The miscreant was seated in the middle seat next to his wife, with 22-year-old victim seated in the window seat. According to the complaint, 34-year-old Prabhu Ramamoorthy reportedly unbuttoned the 22-year-old victim's shirt and stuck his hand in her trousers while she was asleep against the plane's window. "When she fully woke up, the man stopped".

The woman instantly detailed the claims to flight orderlies, who said she "showed up obviously irritated and was crying", as per the dissension.

According to court documents, two flight attendants confirmed that Celia had come to them in tears with her shirt and trousers undone.

Prabhu was arrested when the plane landed.

According to a written statement by Prabhu, he had taken a pill ("plain Tylenol") and fallen into deep sleep. In the statement, he also added that he hadn't done anything apart from learning from his wife that the 22-year-old woman was sleeping on his knees.

Ramamoorthy's wife told officials, 'they had called the flight attendants to try to change seats. However, the flight attendants denied the same.

Ramamoorthy gave "conflicting reports", about what happened with the victim, Jawad said. The magistrate found the case "very unusual" and ordered Ramamoorthy to be held after Jawad argued the assaulter posed a potential danger to people around him. "There have been no allegations from anywhere that his behavior has ever been inappropriate prior to this incident". "I have a hard time with some of these allegations, but that's what a trial is for".

A spokesman with Spirit Airlines said in an email that it is coordinating with law implementation.
