Kelly Clarkson was so excited to meet Meryl Streep that she forgot to introduce herself.

"The Voice, literally, it's nearly full circle for me how I started singing", Clarkson, who kickstarted her career on Idol, exclusively told Us Weekly at the Television Critics Association in Pasadena, California, on Tuesday, January 9. "I just mean a spanking".

Upon seeing Cuomo's review, Clarkson tweeted that she "might be tearing up", adding, "Seriously, I can't believe you're listening to my record and this has made my 2018".

The singer said that her parents spanked her when she was a child.

"At a Television Critics Association event, the mother of two, (River, 3, and Remington, 21 months, pictured above) told the press "[Kids] are challenging. "And I don't mean like hitting her hard, I just mean a spanking", she explained.

"I'm from the South, y'all, so we get spankings", Clarkson stated.

Kelly Clarkson isn't above giving her two children a little spank when needed, she's revealed during a radio interview. "I'm so stoked about The Voice for many reasons, but the main one being it's cool to be able to give to other people what was done for me", she said. It's so hard to not drink your punch, and I think a lot of people fall prey to that ...

While Clarkson wished American Idol's new judges' lineup of Katy Perry, Luke Bryan, and recent Kennedy Center Honoree Lionel Richie well, the "Because of You" singer stated that she might not watch the ABC revival. However, she finds the warning of an impending spanking is often enough to stop River in her tracks. Physical punishments, including spanking, are not part of the recommendation from the American Academy of Pediatrics as it apparently instills aggressive behavior in kids.

On Facebook, one parent shared, "I never spanked my kids".
