Calvin Ridley declares for draft; RB Damien Harris to stay at Bama

Calvin Ridley is NFL-bound.

Ridley announced his decision in a Twitter post Wednesday, two days after the Crimson Tide won the second national championship of his three-year career.

After a quiet freshman season, the running back out of Northport, Al. had his most productive campaign as a sophomore, rushing for 812 yards and 11 scores on 125 carries.

"In announcing my entrance to the upcoming 2018 NFL Draft, I know that those who come after me will take this program to even greater heights", Ridley said in a statement. had Harris ranked as the 35th best prospect in the NFL Draft - a projection just outside of the first round - and as the fifth-best running back.

Ridley, a 6-foot-1, 190-pound player from Ft. He had more than 100 yards receiving in one other game this year, posting 103 in a victory against Mercer on November 18.

In addition to Ridley, junior defensive tackle Da'Ron Payne, an All-SEC selection who was the defensive MVP of both the national championship and semifinal games, will also enter the draft, a source confirmed to ESPN.
