Valkyria Project 4 seems to be set in 1935 EC, during the Second European War, with the trailer showing footage of tanks and soldiers advancing symbolically over fields of flowers. According to the developers, its vibrant and evocative art style portrays a living canvas of watercolors, and a gripping World War II-inspired story full of momentous triumphs, heartbreaking loss, and unexpected hope for the human spirit. The tactical role-playing game will be coming to the west, specifically for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch as well, marking the first time a game from the Valkyria series has appeared on the console. Although the Federation struggles valiantly against the Empire's forces, the relentless imperial military machine threatens to consume them. With victory slipping away, the Federation executes Operation Northern Cross: a last-ditch attempt to capture the imperial capital and end the war.

Further it was also said; that the players will be taking command of the young and eager Commander Claude Wallace, Riley Miller-the heavy weapons extraordinaire/engineer, ice-cold ace sniper-Kai Schulen, Darscen Raz-the hot-headed, and much more.

Valkyria Revolution 4 returns to the BLiTZ combat system used in the original three games, with various enhancements and new features such as the new Grenadier class, as well as larger maps than previous titles. The Valkyria Chronicles series started in 2008 with a release on the PS3, and then continued with two more games on the PSP, finally followed up by a PS4 spin-off earlier this year. The soundtrack will be composed by Hitoshi Sakimoto.

Announcing and hyping up what Sega is saying to be the best game in the series, Valkyria Chronicles now has a "4" next to its name.
