It looks like Apple, the California tech giant has chose to continue the legacy of small-sized devices by launching the upgraded version of the Apple iPhone SE (2nd Edition) in early 2018 (probably in March).

If the iPhone SE 2 is truly exclusive to India to start, it may signal a change in marketing strategy for Apple.

This is a substantial hike from Apple's older models, its iPhone 8 and 8Plus were priced at $699 and $799, respectively. This will effectively be Apple's "budget" iPhone, which the company will primarily push in markets like India and China. The device will be exclusively manufactured by Wistron in India, who is already manufacturing some of the current iPhone SE. The latest rumours claim that the iPhone SE 2 will launch in the first three months of 2018 which is what rumours prior to this mentioned.

There was scepticism when Apple released a small screen smartphone called iPhone SE in 2016 as consumers seemed to be going insane after big-screen phones and most original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) went with the trend but reality turned out to be different.

The iPhone SE 2 is believed to feature the Touch ID sensor that was launched with the iPhone 6S. Previous rumors had suggested that the handset would launch this year. This was intended for those that didn't necessarily want to make the jump to the larger 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch sizes that came with the iPhone 6.

Unfortunately, there is no indication on if the iPhone SE will receive a refreshed or all-new exterior design to go along with its upgraded internals. Moreover, the SE also supports 4K video playback, which was not available on the iPhone 5S.
