Reports of friction between Hardik's party and the Congress had emerged after the latter's refusal to grant nine tickets demanded by PAAS, and instead, asking it to settle for only four.

The two phase elections in Gujarat will take place on December 9 and 14.

In the first list there are 23 candidates from the Patidar community, including both Congress as well as PAAS nominees.

In Ahmedabad, convener of PAAS Dinesh Bambhania, a close aide of Mr. Patel's, told mediapersons that all their demands for a quota and related issues would be met. "Hardik himself will share the details tomorrow, when he will also address a rally in Chief Minister Vijay Rupani's constituency in Rajkot", Mr. Bambhania added. A day after Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray stood by Patidar leader Hardik Patel in the sex CD leak case, the Shiv Sena slammed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for resorting to "low level" politics in the run-up to the Gujarat Assembly elections.

"Now we have given a 24-hour ultimatum to the Congress". While the Congress has released a list of 77 names, it is expected to come out with another list on Monday. Polling in the hilly state was held on November 9.

Following speculation that the BJP would drop many sitting ministers and MLAs to overcome high levels of local anti-incumbency and for other factors, like the Patidar reservation stir, in its first list of 70 candidates, the BJP dropped only two sitting MLAs (one woman MLAs's husband was given the ticket) only and repeated all sitting MLAs.

Summary: The party said the BJP allegedly leaked the sex CD of the leader because it could not counter him.

He further added that the PAAS leaders have been kept waiting for a response from the Congress leadership.

"I have declared it earlier and I am declaring it today as well that I will not fight the Gujarat Assembly elections", Mr Solanki said.
