Manchester United are weighing up the possibility of launching a January bid for Chelsea defender David Luiz, according to reports.

The Brazil global was replaced by 21-year-old Andreas Christensen for the United game and local media reported that he had been dropped after falling out with Conte, but the Italian said on Friday that omitting a player was "normal".

Conte said: 'David Luiz is in the squad yes.

"When it's a technical decision, every single player has to react well and to accept my decision".

What's more, Antonio Conte himself looks conspicuously uninspired during his press conferences and many are prone to question his commitment to Chelsea following the most recent slump.

"But I think the six top teams in England have to try".

Chelsea have been criticised for not giving youth a chance, and in Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Tammy Abraham have two players who have impressed so much on loan at Crystal Palace and Swansea City respectively that last week they made their England debuts.

The Premier League champions will lock horns with West Bromwich Albion on Saturday afternoon.

His only job in football since hanging up his boots has been with Chelsea, but the 52-year-old wanted to spend more time with his family, so quit his role at Stamford Bridge.

"But, for sure, it won't be easy because I think Manchester City were very strong".

"It's very important for his development, and to come back and play for Chelsea with great maturity". He played for two years on loan and now he's playing regularly for Chelsea. They were a very good team last season. Ruben, I read his interview. We have also to prepare for three important games in eight days. He said it's ideal to play this season regularly.

Denmark worldwide Christensen slotted in seamlessly for Luiz against United and has the same ball-playing qualities after spending two seasons on loan in the Bundesliga with Borussia Monchengladbach. "I don't understand why we always have to try (to find) a problem". It's very hard now to predict who will win the title in this league, but Manchester City are [on] a very positive path. "He's a young player, but he's a Chelsea player and an important Chelsea player".
