This is apparently the upcoming Google Home Mini that's coming next month

As revealed by Droid-Life today, Google is hard at work on a Google Home Mini which, as the name suggests, reduces the hardware size and even adds a splash of a new color to the mix. Now it's the Pixel 2 XL leaking with press renders of the phone in Black & White and "Just Black" showing up. That means a 64GB option for $649, and a 128GB option for $749 - $200 less than the reported Pixel 2 XL pricing.

In other news, it has been confirmed by papers that the XL (larger) version of the new Pixel devices will be manufactured by LG. We won't know their accuracy until Google's October 4 event. As to its features, it can set reminders, grab news and schedule activities just like a full-size Google Home device.

This is an interesting move from Google since the Daydream View headset is quite a simple accessory already, so you wouldn't think there is much they can improve upon. Apple's iPhone 8 Plus is only $799, but it's not too late for Google to adjust the price before launch.

Google is reportedly planning to release a new miniature version of its Google Home smart speaker.

Design-wise, it looks like the majority of the Home Mini will be swathed in fabric and available in three colors: "Charcoal", "Chalk" and "Coral". The Google Home sells for $129, while the Amazon Echo goes for $179, though it's often on sale for less. Outside of a few top-mounted LEDs, there doesn't appear to be any discernible buttons. That's $80 more than last year's Pixel XL, although you do get twice the storage in the base model.

Unlike Google Home which retails for $130 Dollars, the Google Home Mini is much more affordable at only $49 USD.
