The Qualcomm Snapdragon 835SoC will be the processor powering the LG V30 and 4GB RAM perks up the performance quotient of the smartphone.

For selfies, there is a 5MP front camera with a 90-degree angle of view. LG has gone some way to prove the durability of its new device as it has passed 14 categories of the MIL-STD 810G Transit Drop Test, and it is IP68 water and dust resistant.

LG V30 runs on Android 7 Nougat with LG UX 6.0+. The 16MP sensor has an aperture size of f/1.6 which is world's first and it comes with 71° wide angle lens. It also says there's a new Cine Video mode that has Cine Effect and Point Zoom features. It has thickness of 7.3mm and weighs just 158g.

As for other features, you're looking at voice recognition, facial recognition via the selfie shooter (no word on whether the security has been improved), B&O Play earphones in the box and MQA tech for high-quality streaming.

The LG V30 has been launched in 4 color vairants - Aurora Black, Cloud Silver, Moroccan Blue and Lavender Violet. It gets a Micro SD card slot also for further expansion of storage.

LG did not reveal any information on the pricing and availability of the LG V30 at its launch event. Throw in Hi-Fi Quad DAC, a camera lens with the first ever f/1.6 aperture, some waterproofing into the mix and we have the LG V30. The V30's screen also supports HDR10. It packs dual rear cameras - something which is increasing becoming a standard- with a 16-megapixel f1.6 lens and 13-megapixel wide-angle lens.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 on the other hand sports a dual-camera setup (12MP+12MP) with an f.1/7 aperture, dual pixel technology, OIS, and 2x optical zoom support.

LG Electronics has unveiled its latest flagship from the V series, the LG V30.

"The V30 will become available to consumers in South Korea starting on September 21 and will be followed by key markets in North America, Asia, Europe, Africa and the Middle East", LG confirmed.

This phone is packed with 6.0-inch QuadHD+ OLED FullVision Display (2880 x 1440 / 538ppi) with aspect ratio of 18:9.

The fingerprint scanner is mounted on the rear side of the LG V30 as usual.

As we mentioned above, the LG V30 does away with the secondary ticker display in favor of a floating bar which houses shortcuts for things like Settings, Notes and so on.

Its connectivity options include 4G, LTE, 3G, GPRS/EDGE, Wi-Fi, GPS/AGPS, GLONASS, Wi-Fi Direct, WLAN, Bluetooth, USB OTG, and USB Type-C. And then there's the Floating Bar, a semi-transparent strip that appears on your home screen and can be customized with five apps for quick and easy access.

The LG V30 comes out into the markets with a 6 inch, FullVision display. ZDNet's Matthew Miller writes, "The LG V30 has all of the buttons and openings in almost the same places as the LG G6, but it is wider, taller, and a bit thinner". The screen also supports High Dynamic Range 10 (HDR) content and Always On mode.
