Huawei Honor Play 6 smartphone launched in China

The new Honor 6 Play has a series of decent specs ad feature which will probably make it a must-have for budget conscious customers.

Huawei's sub-brand Honor has launched two new mid-end smartphones - Honor V9 Play and Honor 6 Play, in China.

Honor 6X (64GB, 4GB RAM) runs Android, 6.0 Marshmallow and features a 5.5 inches IPS LCD 1080 x 1920 pixels display and a Octa-core (4x2.1 GHz Cortex-A53 & 4x1.7 GHz Cortex-A53) 4GB RAM HiSilicon Kirin 655 processor paired with and 64GB native storage capacity. The device sports a 5.2-inch HD display with 2.5D curved glass atop. The Honor V9 Play comes with 32 GB of internal storage and runs Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box atop Honors EMUI 5.1. In terms of photography, the phone will ship with an 8MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture and a 5MP front camera with f/2.4 aperture. They coupled it with Mali T860 GPU (Graphics Processing Unit). Huawei is for the premium phones while the Honor is more for the budget devices. The Honor V9 is set to go on sale starting 12 September while the V6 Play goes on sale starting 7 September. It powers with 1.4 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6737T processor.

Connectivity options on the phone include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1 LE, GPS / GLONASS. The price of Honor 6 play in India will be around 5K to 6K. The rear shooter is an 8-megapixel sensor with a f/2.0 aperture and selfie duties are handled by a 5-megapixel sensor with a f/2.4 aperture. The smartphone is measured at 143.8x72x8.85mm and weighs around 150g. The device comes in Gold, Rose Gold, Red, Blue and Black color variants priced at 999 Yuan (Rs 9,830 approximately) for the 3GB RAM variant and 1119 Yuan for 4GB RAM variant (Rs 11,790 approximately). There is no information on the availability of these phones in other countries.
