Weekly Jump also reveals that the game will have a story mode involving a revived Android 16 where "super warriors fall one by one".

"The latest updates for "##Dragon Ball FighterZ" will feature four new playable characters in the roster and details on the game's story mode.

The four new roster members were introduced in an issue of the Weekly Jump magazine, and they are Super Saiyan Blue Goku, Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta as well as Android 16 and Android 18, Gematsu reported.

The two high-powered fighters will apparently be separate characters, not in-fight transformations. Android 17 will also make an appearance as part of Android 18's Accel Dance combo attack, but we don't know at this stage whether he'll be a standalone playable character.

Super Saiyan Blue Goku can use "10x God Kamehameha". Android 16 is resurrected here and is far more powerful than his debut fighting Cell and the other Z Fighters, but for some reason he's only focused on exacting some payback on Goku and the rest of the crew. Weirdly enough, there's no Android 17 to go along with the trio from the show, but hey - it's the Androids, and we're not here to complain so much. It is described as "a new story for Goku and friends depicted in high-end animation".

Dragon Ball FighterZ is set to launch in early 2018 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. However, these efforts will necessitate a slight delay for the closed beta sign-up date, which will move to August 22, 2017 with the official start of the DRAGON BALL FighterZ Closed Beta officially commencing from September 16 -18.
