Xiaomi Mi Max 2 launched in India: Specs, price and availability

Also on Tuesday, Xiaomi has launched the Mi Max 2 in India at a price of Rs 16,999.

The Xiaomi Mi Max 2 has a 5300 mAh battery, which is a higher capacity when compared to the 4800 mAh battery on the Mi Max, and this has the reverse charging support if you want to charge any other device around.

The device comes in a metal unibody frame and sports a rear finger print sensor.

The Mi Max 2 is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 625 SoC clocked at 2GHz coupled with 4GB of RAM.

With the launch of new Mi Max 2, Xiaomi has three smartphones under the Mi Max series with each variant having inbuilt storage of 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB.

The Mi Max 2 comes with Android 7.1.1 out of the box and will be available in matte black with a fingerprint resistant coating. Mi Max 2 is packed with 12-megapixel rear camera with Sony IMX386 sensor and 5MP front camera. It also features dual-band Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, NFC, IR emitter, USB Type-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The Mi Max 2 comes with a huge 5300mAh two-day battery, perhaps the largest available in the market. With such a large battery, the Mi Max can be charged from 0% to 68% in just one hour.

Priced at Rs 16,999, the device will be available from July 27 from 10 am on Flipkart, Amazon, TATA CliQ and Mi.com. You'll find the Snapdragon 625 chipset under the hood along with 4 GB of RAM. It supports 4G, 3G, and 2G all network connections.

Max 2 measures 174.1x88.7x7.6mm and weigh 211 grams. At the event, the company also announced its 3rd Mi anniversary sale which will be held on 20th and 21th July. Xiaomi has worked on the ergonomics of the Mi Max 2 to make it a handier smartphone than the previous generation model - pertaining to the grip.

The Mi Max 2 also sports stereo speakers for immersive audio output.
