As NSA, Doval went out of the way in bringing PM Narendra Modi and his Israeli counterpart Benjamin Netanyahu so close that it finally crowned Modi to become Indian PM in history to visit Tel Aviv.

The former Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) General Secretary also added that Modi's visit was also an open declaration that India doesn't stand by the Palestinian cause anymore.

India established diplomatic relations with Israel in 1992, when #Narasimha Rao was the prime minister.

The visit coincides with India and Israel marking 25 years of their diplomatic relations and 50 years of occupation of the West Bank and Gaza Strip.

India is now the world's fastest growing major economy, a status that Modi is hoping to cement by drawing in more foreign investment.

The airport pickup signifies the considerable elevation at which Indian-Israeli relations have been lifted to.

After warmly receiving Modi at Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion Airport with a hug, and according him a red carpet welcome, a smiling Netanyahu said: "My friend Prime Minister Narendra Modi, welcome to Israel". "Aapka swagat hai, mere dost (welcome, my friend)", Netanyahu said in Hindi, adding, "We love India".

Talking about the vast possibilities of cooperation between the two countries, he said, "We can do even more, even better together". Prime Minister Modi inspected a ceremonial Guard of Honour. "It's so natural that we can ask what took so long for them to blossom", he said. Describing India and Israel as sister democracies, he said, both the countries can do great things together.

The farm, about 56 km from Occupied Jerusalem, is one of Israel's leading floriculture companies with approximately 80,000 square meters of state-of-the-art greenhouses specialising in reproduction of plants.

He further said that India is a very old civilisation, but a very young nation and the talented and skill youth of the country are also its driving force. Modi would also call upon Israels President Reuven Rivlin on July 5 and the leader of opposition, Isaac Herzog.

The two leaders then travelled to the Holocaust Memorial at Yad Vashem, where Modi paid tribute to the 6 million Jews murdered by the Nazi regime, before a meeting over dinner.

"I look forward to engaging leaders from other G-20 countries on the vital issues affecting our world today that have a bearing on economic growth, sustainable development, and peace and stability", he had said. "As such, we must resolutely oppose the evils of terrorism, radicalism and violence that plague our time", he said.
