The best chance of showers and thunderstorms will be over the mountains and adjacent foothills Wednesday, but some storms will likely slip down into the plains as well.

Saturday: A chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms otherwise partly cloudy with highs in the upper 80s and lower 90s.

Thursday, mostly sunny, with a high near 86.

FRIDAY NIGHT: Decreasing rain showers and clearing skies develop Friday night, with a low temperature of 61 degrees.

Saturday: Sunny, high near 77. Highs are in the middle to upper 80s with muggy conditions. Winds could gust up to 21 miles per hour.

Friday: 30-percent chance of showers and thunderstorms; high near 91 and a low around 76.

High pressure leads to dry, sunny weather because air tends to move outward at the surface.

Monday: Sunny, with a high near 87. Winds will start from the southeast at 12 miles per hour and will stay around 12-14 miles per hour all day, but by evening, the storms will come from the south.

Patchy fog is expected before 8 a.m. Thursday before clouds build in the afternoon in preparation for another lightning show, forecasters say.

Sunday is when some of the humidity will come back, with sunny skies and temperatures in the mid 70s.

Tuesday: Sunny, warm to hot.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT: Mostly clear skies and mild temperatures develop Wednesday night, with a low of 64 degrees.

Sunday night: Clear, with a low around 66.
