The Sonoma-Marin Fair held it's now nationally famous, 29th Annual Ugliest Dog Contest on Friday and a victor has been crowned. He had lost his hearing and sight but his sense of smell is strong and he was enjoying all the smells at the Sonoma-Marin Fair where the contest is held, including funnel cakes and other fried goodies. Martha the Neapolitan Mastiff is 125 lbs and drooling with ugly! This prize usually goes to dogs of the smaller, more hairless variety-last year's victor was a Chinese Crested dog named SweePee Rambo who wore a diaper and was pretty over everything.

Martha lumbered away with $1,500, a flashy trophy and a trip to NY for media appearances, all things she could hardly care less about.

Organizers at the World's Ugliest Dog event said that for more than 50 years, the competition has taken place in Petaluma, California.

Martha was rescued when she was almost blind, but after multiple surgeries, she can see again.

"I'll see the animal and say, 'Oh boy".

The second-place victor was Moe, a Brussels Griffon-pug mix who is 16 years old. Dog contestants were judged on first impressions, unusual attributes, personality, and audience reaction.

She has bright red eyes and excessive flaps of skin hanging near her mouth.

Although most dogs would let the honor go right to their funny-looking heads, Martha couldn't have cared less.

Even though they were in a competition for their imperfections, their owners saw nothing but beauty.
