Rafael Nadal eases into the third round of the French Open on Wednesday by defeating Robin Haase 6-1, 6-4, 6-3 with a brutal showing. And, under the watchful eye of his new coach Andre Agassi, Djokovic swept past João Sousa 6-1 6-4 6-3 to book his place in the third round, where he will play Argentinian Diego Schwartzman.

Serving to stay in the contest when darkness halted their tie on Tuesday, Tsonga was broken immediately when play resumed as the Argentine world number 91 wrapped up a 7-5, 6-4, 6-7 (6/8), 6-4 win.

Johnson will next face sixth-seeded Dominic Thiem, who moved into the third round with a 7-5, 6-1, 6-3 win over Simone Bolelli of Italy.

Tsonga, the 12th seed, lost the first three points on his serve Wednesday and managed to save the three match points. And today I lost at the French Open.

"I think I played a good match, I think I played a solid match, hitting very well with the forehand". Agassi solved hard situations on the court when he was a player. You know, I want to play the kind of tennis that's consistent and aggressive, inspired.

Milos Raonic, the fifth seed, needed four sets but bested Rogerio Dutra Silva. "I played a good match", said the Spaniard player, who got his 74th win at the Roland Garros. "He's waiting for me for a serious talk", joked the 30-year-old after seeing off Granollers for the fourth time.

It was the biggest shock of the men's draw so far, and a disappointment to both Tsonga, 32, and the French public, as he had arrived in Paris on the back of his first clay-court title in Lyon.

In the second, a series of winners from Sousa saw him break Djokovic, but the Serb was quick to counter, going 4-2 up after which he served out the set.

Little wonder that, after beginning the year at No9, he is back among fellow Grand Slam champions at the top of the ranks and leads the Race to London. Is true that there is a lot of other people that really helped me, too, my father and my mom, my family in general, and the rest, all the team later, no?

Caroline Wozniacki dished out a chastening 6-0, 6-0 thrashing to Canadian qualifier Francoise Abanda in just 52 minutes. "Well, it was an awkward twist, but it was nothing, nothing really major", he said.

American Venus Williams made it into the third round after a straight-sets win over Kurumi Nara, 6-3, 6-1.

Reigning champion Djokovic teamed up with 1999 champion Agassi in a dream-team player-coach combination just before the start of the tournament.
