Boston's Children's Hospital was named the best pediatric hospital in the country by U.S. News and World Reportfor the fifth year in a row on Tuesday. In all Nationwide Children's Hospital received 10 top 20 rankings in the country for multiple pediatric treatments. At the forefront of innovation, Boston Children's works to refine simulation training and improve 3D printing models to provide patients and families with the highest level of personalized care.

The new rankings, released today, highlight the top 50 centers in 10 pediatric specialties: cancer, cardiology and heart surgery, diabetes and endocrinology, gastroenterology and gastrointestinal surgery, neonatology, nephrology, neurology and neurosurgery, orthopedics, pulmonology, and urology.

This story will be updated. Boston Children's is also the primary pediatric teaching affiliate of Harvard Medical School. According to PR Newswire, hospitals' pediatric cancer scores were based on certain measures of clinical care, with 85 percent of every hospital's score coming from data gathered through a detailed U.S. News clinical survey of pediatric hospitals.

Johns Hopkins All Children's was the only children's hospital on Florida's West Coast that made the list.

"These rankings represent a steadfast commitment by our entire children's hospital staff to delivering the highest quality pediatric care in the region", the chief of clinical services, Mark A. Scheurer, M.D. said in a statement.

In compiling their rankings, the editors factor in a combination of clinical data and an annual survey of specialists in the field of pediatrics. "Validations such as these rankings are a testament to the tremendous caliber of the physicians, nurses, technicians and other health care providers and staff who are driven each day to provide the best care possible to the children and families they serve", he said.

Nine New York-area hospitals that focus on caring for children battling major health issues are feeling pretty darn good these days. Along with claiming the overall honor, the hospital also ranked within the top three spots of all 10 specialty categories.

"And this kind of ranking from U.S. News & World Reportconfirms that St. Jude is, in the United States - and really in my mind the best place in the world - for a child to be treated who has a catastrophic disease like cancer". "It seems like every year there's even more and more children's hospitals that are seeking designation".
