Warriors favored over LeBron and Cavaliers in the finals

When you're growing up and you're seeing Michael Jordan, it's nearly like a God. It's not every day that someone goes to his seventh consecutive NBA Finals.

Excessive complacency in the third game of the series with "Boston" cost "Cleveland" loss impressive winning streak in the playoffs and forced the Cavaliers to get back to the lair of the Celtics.

Even in the game Boston won, the Celtics had to rally from a 21-point deficit to steal Game 3 on an Avery Bradley last-second 3-pointer.

James had overtaken Michael Jordan as the NBA's all-time leading playoff scorer on a deep three-pointer late in the third quarter.

"When you're growing up and you're seeing Michael Jordan, it's nearly like a god, so I didn't ever believe I could be Mike", James said.

"I don't have to score to make an impact on a game and that was my mindset when I started playing, if I'm not scoring how can I still make an impact on the game?" He played just 18 minutes in Game 2 while playing through the lingering pain.

Love scored Cleveland's first eight points and finished the opening frame with 10 points and five rebounds. It spurred the most intense frenzy surrounding an National Basketball Association free agent decision since James announced in 2014 that he would return to the Cavaliers after spending four seasons with the Miami Heat.

And, breaking it down by spread, there have been 24 NBA Finals games with favorites of seven or more points the last 25 postseasons.

James was mobbed by teammates, embracing him and shouting in his ear, in awe of his accomplishment. For the Celtics to realistically challenge the Cavs in the next three years, it's going to take a significant talent increase. He also claims to not worry about history, promising to push it off until he's watching the sun set on his career.

Golden State Warriors forward David West, Cleveland Cavaliers guards Deron Williams and Kyle Korver are all making their finals debut.

They say the waiting is the hardest part and after another long, pretty much meaningless regular season and an terrible playoffs, the NBA Finals are here.

The third installment of the Cleveland Cavaliers versus the Golden State Warriors starts on June 1.

"This team is a insane team", Cavs coach Ty Lue said. "They just stayed resilient all year, got to the playoffs, and we really stepped our game up", he said.

What has been surprising, however, is how phenomenal his supporting cast has looked, particularly his star running mates Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love.

Thomas, who averaged 28.9 points per game during the regular season and 23.3 during the postseason, scored 19 total points in the first two games against Cleveland. In 2016, Irving averaged almost five more points and one more steal than Curry. He's been present at practice and recently traveled with the team at the end of the Warriors' sweep against the Spurs. "I think I made it a little worse when I took that fall", he said.

LeBron James is the best player in the world, right now. This night was as much about him as he would allow.

The Warriors are stacked with players people don't like, Steph Curry because he's successful, Draymond Green because he plays like a Grayson Allen that people like and Durant because he abandoned Oklahoma City (although it's not like they got their franchise via expansion, so it's hard to feel that sorry for them).
