Starting next season, Goodyear will have jersey patch on the Cleveland Cavaliers' jersey according to Kevin Kleps of Crains Cleveland.

Bloomberg first reported the deal in February about the Goodyear logo being placed on the Cavaliers jerseys.

The partnership had deeper meaning for Cavs general manager David Griffin. Although the space has been projected by commissioner Adam Silver to be collectively worth $100 million annually, being the first North American major sports league to sell a space for a logo on a game uniform hasn't proved easy. The terms of the deal aren't yet known, and the team is expected to announce it later Monday. All-Star forward LeBron James was born and now lives in Akron.

"Every Akron kid grew up seeing the Wingfoot in the sky on the blimp and feeling pride in our community", said James. "There is something special for me personally about having that logo on the Cavs' uniform", James said.

The new jersey advertising policy will mean a redesigned look for the league's teams, including the Cavs, when Nike takes over as the official uniform supplier.

The jerseys, which will also have new manufacturers with the National Basketball Association switching over to Nike from Adidas, will have a new look next year and it's one that all of Cleveland, and all of Akron, can get behind. In 1937, 13 companies paid players in a league called the National Basketball League.

What do you think about the Cleveland Cavaliers sponsorship agreement with Goodyear? It is most famous for its blimp, which flies over sporting events. The Wingfoots captured the AAU National Championship in 1964 with a team that featured three Olympic Gold Medalists: Richard Davies, Pete McCaffrey, and Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Famer Larry Brown.

As one of the top high-profile teams in the league, Goodyear will be getting plenty of exposure.

Turner Sports, which owns Bleacher Report, will serve as Goodyear's media partner for the agreement.
