Putin offers to give Congress notes of Trump's meeting

Did Richard Nixon come to mind? If so, think again. "We've got one standard, and we need to make sure that applies to everybody". But how numerous people clamoring for Trump's impeachment today would defend the impeachment of Bill Clinton almost twenty years ago?

"I think we're in impeachment territory". It's become an idee fixe.

A Democratic lawmaker has called for impeachment of US President Donald Trump for his alleged involvement in obstruction of justice, after news reports revealed that he had asked the FBI to stop investigations against former national security advisor Michael Flynn. Those contacts are now part of the FBI's counterintelligence investigation. "At worst, he has obstructed justice".

The House speaker said he still has confidence in Trump.

The White House has denied that Trump asked Comey to end the Flynn investigation. Forty-one percent of voters said they opposed a potential impeachment. "Our job is to get the facts and be sober about doing that". If this was just casual chatter, why wait until they were no other witnesses? "We've got to focus on whether there was some kind of crime committed". Whether any of his subordinates, such as Flynn, did so is still an open question.

"Richard M. Nixon, using the powers of his high office, engaged personally and through his close subordinates and agents, in a course of conduct or plan created to delay, impede, and obstruct the investigation of such illegal entry; to cover up, hide and protect those responsible; and to hide the existence and scope of other unlawful covert activities".

Four months in, yet it's not unfair to ask Americans, especially political leaders, Republicans and Democrats, when is enough enough? The House of Representatives can not find the President guilty of anything.

The New York Times first, then The Washington Post and other outlets have reported that Trump had asked Comey in a February meeting not to pursue the Flynn probe and pursue reporters in leak cases instead. "It is obvious that there are some people out there that want to harm the president".

Both speeches were being drafted by Trump's policy adviser Stephen Miller, who helped write Trump's convention and inaugural addresses, with input from the large collection of advisers who are helping to plan the trip: son-in-law and senior adviser Jared Kushner, McMaster and deputy national security adviser Dina Powell. Why is the president protecting him?

Trump did the same thing, but even more directly. Comey is known to be a pretty meticulous keeper of notes, and CNN's Jake Tapper reported that Comey kept extensive notes of his conversations with Trump for the precise reason that they made him uneasy - presumably because of Trump making requests such as the Flynn one that crossed a line for Comey.
