During last night's Screen Actors Guild Awards, comedy legend Lily Tomlin used most of her time on the stage accepting a Lifetime Achievement Award offering up some sage life advice to young actors everywhere.

"What sign should I make for the next march?" she asked the crowd before saying, "I'm so glad this speech is nearly over". Seriously, I didn't. They were holding me backstage, they kept wanting to see my I.D.'s. Well I think it was "IDs" maybe it was "double Ds" something like that. "I wanted to get that off my chest".

Of course Lily now stars with Jane in Netflix's hit show, Grace and Frankie - both are nominated for their roles in the comedy. During Parton's presentation to Tomlin, she joked of the three uniting for a remake of the beloved film. She told City Paper in 2015, "I mostly stick by the old conventional Converse that have laces and rubber on the toes". In the same year they were married, they worked together on the short film An Apology to Elephants, which Wagner wrote and Tomlin narrated. It was, of course, covered in sequins and embroidery and showed off her legendary curves. Parton was just glad the award wasn't going to her. "Lily's getting an award I've spent my life trying to avoid: sag". "Sag award? If I see something sagging, dragging and bagging I'm gonna call Dr. Markowitz to get that nipped up and sucked right away".

Check out Parton's full monologue above and don't miss Tomlin's equally as hilarious acceptance speech below.

She also offered some of her best advice for aspiring actors. "If you're already out there, you must learn to tell when you've had too much to drink". In my defense, I wasted a lot of time being ambitious about the wrong things.

"People have been talking for years, saying we should make a followup sequel to 9 to 5", Parton said with a big smile, dressed in a shimmering floor-length dress.

"Don't be anxious about missing an opportunity".

If ever the SAG Awards creates a new category for Bestest Friends in Hollywood History, Sunday's show left no doubt about who the first pair of recipients would be.
